Volunteer Places at QPR2020

QPR2020 is again offering VOLUNTEER places at the 21-23 April 2020 conference through its main sponsors Flinders University, the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide. QPR is the world’s biggest & longest-standing conference on doctoral education.

These places will be allocated to 15 students from each institution. In exchange for a minimum of 8 hours assistance at the conference, you will receive free registration and catering at the conference. Registration is valued at $560, and attendance at the conference and volunteering offers you a great way of gaining invaluable experience, adding to your CV.

Assistance involves the volunteers in various roles such as manning registrations desks, engaging in preparatory activities, photographing the event, assisting delegates during the conference, clean up of rooms, and liaising with chairpersons and staff.

You have until 5pm 5 March 2020 to register for this exciting opportunity.

Additional Details:

Volunteer Registration does NOT include the conference social events. However, you are welcome to attend these activities at your own expense. Please see the details on our website.

Areas that will need staffed will be: 7 session rooms, registration desk, poster area & catering areas. While some of these will need multiple staff at times, during the duration of the sessions we would like to ensure that 1 person is at each area at all times which will allow time for volunteers to attend presentations of interest.

You are required to attend a brief training session at the National Wine Centre on Monday 20 April (time to be advised). At this training session, you will be advised of the tasks required, and given full information about the running of the event. You will also assist with the packing of the conference bags.

Dress code for volunteers: Wear all black clothing. You will be provided with a lanyard and a bright volunteer badge.

To register, please:

  1. Register your attendance here. (You will need to provide the promotional code provided by your University)
  2. Nominate the hours and tasks you would like to volunteer for here. Remember that we require a minimum of 8 hours and may request extra time if places are not filled. Don’t worry, you will still get plenty of opportunity to be part of the conference as many roles involve seating delegates then sitting in sessions. Also, we may call on you if anything is required over the 3 days apart from your scheduled times.

Thank you again for offering to join us, if you do have any changes to availability please lot back into the sign up system and amend your times.

Fully Funded HDR Student Places

As main sponsors of the QPR conference, each of the three Adelaide-based universities receives ten full-funded HDR student registrations to allocate as it chooses to research degree candidates studying at their institution. Each of the registrations includes the full three days’ attendance, all catering, attendance at the social evening on the first night of the conference, and the conference pack.

The Universities will identify the students they would like to receive these fully-funded registrations and will provide them with the necessary information so that they can register.

If you have been identified as a recipient of one of your institutional full-funded places, please complete the following registration by 14 February.
